Who I Am
By Gail Grenier Sweet ©2006
My secret name is Marsha Woods, for the two places I love most in this world. Yup, I’m a nature nut.
I believe the most important issue facing our planet is global climate change. I’m researching this topic and hope to put information on my web site, so that others who care may use the information to share with their legislators. If we work together, maybe we can affect global change before it is irreversible. I want my grandson to have a future. Heck, I want to have a future!
I’m reading two books: Boiling Point by Ross Gelbspan and The Weather Makers by Tim Flannery.
The subtitle to Boiling Point is How Politicians, Big Oil and Coal, Journalists, and Activists Have Fueled the Climate Crisis – and What we Can do to Avert Disaster.
The subtitle to The Weather Makers is The History and Future Impact of Climate Change.
Those subtitles are mouthfuls, hey?!
My friend Moe sent me an article rebutting the viewpoint that our world is on the brink of climate catastrophe.Oh, how I would love to believe this article. It was published on Wed., April 12, 2006, in the Wall Street Journal Editorial Page. Title: “Climate of Fear.” Author: Richard Lindzen, Professor of Atmospheric Science at MIT.
More on this later.
